Without Movement, nothing changes

Play Video

A practice focused on the living process.
A practice with direction but not dogma.
A practice exploring your limitations
and potential.

A Movement Practice.

We are complex beings born into movement. We learn and grow from every new experience. We are dynamic, always changing, always in motion.

Without new experience, nothing moves. Nothing changes. Nothing grows. A physical practice based in repetition gives you nothing new in return.

Choose to be comfortable, or choose to explore. The difference changes EVERYTHING. You will be exposed. You will be challenged. You will be stimulated. You will thrive.

You will feel and move better. Stronger and more mobile, better balance & coordination, more injury resistant & aware; the ‘side-effects’ of our practice, not the goal.

A practice focused on the living process.
A practice with direction but not dogma.
A practice exploring your limitations and potential.

A Movement Practice.

What is 'MoveMore: Movement Practice'?

Our subject is Movement and there is no final definition. We practice to explore, to map, to learn; to grow. We are always beginners, always students. Everything is an experiment.

Our bodies are vessels for exploration. Our physical practice develops movement potential with an eye toward sustainability, longevity, and possibility.

Our Movement Practice reaches further – more than physical development, our perspective is one of curiosity, enquiry, investigation; learning. We are working.

We are defining and re-defining movement contexts, frames, scenarios. A dynamic, contingent, and evolving practice. It is always in motion. We are always in motion.

This is my perspective. There is no final definition.

My Journey Into Movement Practice:

Jason Round & MoveMore MP

I was strong and muscular. I was in pain and restricted. I looked great - I moved like shit. I simulated movement. I was not moving.

This is not where I started. My Movement past is one of muscle & iron – I was absorbed in the world of strength training & bodybuilding. Though a “successful” personal trainer re-located from England to Australia’s east coast, something was missing.

I did everything I was told was right, but something was wrong. I was strong and muscular. I was in pain and restricted. I looked great – I moved like shit. I simulated movement. I was not moving.

The first change was a shift to bodyweight training. But after 3 years it was the same repetition, same linear progression – I had simply changed one dogma for another. I had changed my practice, but I had not changed my perspective. Continued exploration led me to the word ‘Movement’ through the work of great practitioners and teachers such as Ido Portal.

I researched, I worked, I practiced. Combining new perspectives and tools with my programming methodology, I learnt, developed, and grew. I documented everything and called it the ‘MoveMore’ project.

It started as a personal project, but soon became a sharing project. In this process I connected with other practitioners and teachers from around the world and learnt more in return.

This formed ‘3 wheels’ of MoveMore which guide me to this day:

Learn, Share; Connect

The story is, of course, longer, and not unlike many others. If you thin you will find something of value there you can read further.
